Founder story

Built from nearly 25 years inside real kitchens.

86 Chaos is independently founded and creator-led, with no big tech company sitting above the product. It comes from nearly 25 years in kitchens of many shapes: major corporate operations, busy bars, neighborhood restaurants, and small independently owned places where managers have to keep service moving with the tools they actually have.

Why it exists

Restaurant chaos looks different everywhere, but the patterns are familiar.

After years inside different systems, crews, service styles, and ownership models, one thing became clear: most avoidable problems do not start as disasters. They start as missed prep, an 86 no one communicated, ordering guesswork, schedule confusion, invoice surprises, equipment issues, or notes scattered across texts, paper, spreadsheets, and memory.

Built by the person who lived the workflow

86 Chaos is not a boardroom product trying to guess how restaurants work from a distance. It is built from hands-on kitchen experience and shaped around the problems that show up during real shifts.

That means the app is being shaped around real shift behavior: quick updates, clear handoffs, practical ordering review, human-approved AI, and visibility owners and managers can use without needing an enterprise tech department.

What shaped the product

Made for independent restaurants that need useful tools, not enterprise theater.

The goal is not to bury managers in software. The goal is to make the work easier to see, easier to hand off, and easier to act on during an actual shift.

01

Nearly 25 years in the industry

Experience across corporate kitchens, independently owned restaurants, bars, small teams, and high-pressure service environments helped shape what the app tracks, prioritizes, and simplifies.

02

Independent by design

There is no big-tech parent company steering the product from a spreadsheet. The founder currently works full time in a kitchen and tests 86 Chaos against real service workflows, so the roadmap stays close to actual restaurant work and beta feedback.

03

Built for practical control

Prep, 86 alerts, schedules, inventory, invoices, waste, ordering, maintenance, reminders, and manager briefs are connected so teams can see what matters before it turns into a shift problem.

Built on the line, not in a boardroom

Less chaos. More control.

86 Chaos exists because kitchen management should not depend on memory, scattered messages, and whoever caught the problem first. The product is being built to give independent restaurants a practical operating layer: one place for the daily signals that affect service, ordering, prep, cost, and handoff.

More than a year and 1,000+ founder hours have gone into building 86 Chaos, with the product tested against real kitchen workflows instead of polished-up desk theory. Founder Beta exists so real restaurants can help shape the product while it is still being refined. Feedback from actual shifts matters more than polished guesses.
